MOMNIBUS

We introduced the vision to improve outcomes for mothers and babies, focusing on the time from pregnancy through the first year postpartum. To do this via a package of policies we’ve coined “Momnibus”, to be introduced in 2025 legislative session and beyond. We have spent this past year meeting with many community partners, experts, and Oregonians with lived experience around the State to identify barriers and innovative programs and policies from around the state and the country.

Yellow House

Prioritize pregnant people and families with babies for rental assistance, eviction protection, and emergency housing assistance, and increase the supply of family-sized affordable housing units.

Expand the Oregon tax credits for kids and provide direct assistance to families during the prenatal and postpartum periods.

Little Girl in a Restaurant

Expand availability of integrated maternal substance use and mental health treatments using evidence-based interventions including Project Nurture/ Nurture Oregon.

Increase the numbers of traditional health workers, including doulas, lactation counselors, and community health workers, as well as peer support specialists, through trainings and financial incentives.
