A task force on the perinatal workforce for evaluation that ensures all birthing people receive timely, high-quality care, which is critical for reducing child and maternal mortality rates and addressing health disparities. The taskforce will,
A.
Make recommendations for improving the availability, support, and racial, ethnic, linguistic and geographic diversity of the perinatal workforce and increase the cultural competence of the existing perinatal workforce.
B.
Identify barriers and challenges related to accessing existing perinatal workforce pathways.
C.
Oregon Health Authority (OHA) in collaboration with the Higher Education Coordination Commission (HECC) appoints members.
D
Produce a report with recommendations to the Oregon Legislature by December 1, 2026.
